22 May 2023, Mumbai: Fast X, the highly anticipated American action film directed by Louis Leterrier, has finally hit the screens in 2023. Fast X, the latest addition to the Fast & Furious franchise, takes its place as both the tenth main installment and the eleventh overall installment, following the highly acclaimed F9 (2021). Starring the charismatic Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Fast X made its grand debut in India on May 19, setting the box office on fire with its exceptional performance.

Since its release, Fast X has been racing towards success, surpassing all expectations and earning in double digits every day. On the fourth day of its release, the film garnered a staggering Rs 17.45 crore on May 21, bringing its total collection to approximately Rs 60 crore across languages such as English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Fast X opened with a commendable first-day collection of around Rs 12.5 crore in India.

Predictions suggested that the film would earn Rs 12-13 crore on its opening day at the Indian box office. Surprisingly, even on weekdays, the shows have been selling out, with fans eagerly awaiting the opportunity to experience Fast X in theaters. With advanced bookings already filling up, it’s intriguing to see how ticket sales will surge during the weekends.

The film’s release on May 19, 2023 (Thursday), coincided with the trend of paid previews for Hollywood movies in Indian cinemas. Despite this, Fast X is expected to dominate the box office collection charts based on its strong opening day performance. The film has been released in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, across over 2200 screens in India.

While Fast X’s opening collection falls slightly below that of Fast & Furious 7, which remains the biggest opener in the series at 12.03 crore, it surpasses the opening of Fast & Furious 8, which collected 9.57 crore.

Fast X has set the box office ablaze in India, showcasing its immense popularity and cementing its position as one of the year’s most successful movies.
