3rd October 2023, Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut starrer “Chandramukhi 2” continues to perform steadily at the domestic box office, witnessing a slight dip on its fifth day but still maintaining a strong overall collection. The film, directed by P. Vasu, is a sequel to the blockbuster Tamil horror comedy “Chandramukhi,” which starred Rajinikanth and Jyothika in the lead roles. In “Chandramukhi 2,” Kangana Ranaut plays the role of a dancer known for her beauty and dancing skills in the king’s court, while Raghava Lawrence portrays King Vettaiyan Raja.

“Chandramukhi 2” Slow Growth

The film has been performing well since its release, earning ₹8.25 crore on its opening day and continuing to attract audiences.  “Chandramukhi 2” has earned over ₹28 crore in India so far. The film’s collections for each language are as follows: Tamil ₹18.48 crore, Telugu ₹5.4 crore, and Hindi ₹57 lakh.

On its fifth day, “Chandramukhi 2” earned ₹4.50 crore nett in India for all languages, as per early estimates. This brings the film’s total earnings to ₹28.95 crore in India. The release of “Chandramukhi 2” was highly anticipated, given the success of its predecessor. The film was originally scheduled for release on September 15 but was delayed to September 28 due to technical reasons.

Ahead of the film’s release, Raghava Lawrence, who plays the lead role in the movie, met Rajinikanth to seek his blessings and congratulate him on the success of his recent film “Jailer.” “Chandramukhi 2” is produced by Lyca Productions and Subaskaran and was released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Despite facing competition and a slight dip in collections on its fifth day, “Chandramukhi 2” continues to draw audiences and has performed well at the box office, building on the success of its predecessor and Kangana Ranaut’s star power.
