8th April, 2023 Mumbai: The courtroom drama Section 84, which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Diana Penty, and Abhishek Banerjee, has added Nimrat Kaur to its cast, the Dasvi actress said on Friday. Ribhu Dasgupta, best known for his work on “Te3n” and “The Girl On The Trailer,” wrote and directed the courtroom drama thriller. The renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan plays a major role in in this thriller from Reliance Entertainment, Film Hangar, and director Ribhu Dasgupta, which is produced in collaboration with Jio Studios. Ribhu Dasgupta, the director, previously stated, “I feel thrilled, blessed, and humbled to associate with Sir again. I am looking forward to it.”
“This city has given a small town girl with a very big dream the opportunity to be immortalised on screen between action and cut with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan,” Nimrit Kaur remarked. “I’m grateful to Ribhu Dasgupta for giving me this amazing chance to work with him on one of my life’s most difficult creative endeavours.” Nimrat posted a photo of herself and the film’s director Ribhu Dasgupta on Instagram with the caption, “Let the sleepless nights begin.”
For the first time, Nimrat and Bachchan will appear together onscreen in the next movie. On the first anniversary of her movie Dasvi, the actress announced the news. Bachchan sent her a bouquet of flowers and a handwritten note of congratulations.
Indian actress Nimrat Kaur can be seen in Hindi movies and on American television. She started out as a print model before transitioning to theatre acting. Following a couple brief cameo appearances, Kaur played the lead in Anurag Kashyap’s 2012 Cannes Film Festival entry Peddlers. She then won praise for her breakthrough performance in the drama The Lunchbox, which she co-starred in, at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Kaur played Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent Tasneem Qureishi in the fourth season of the American television show Homeland in 2015. Later, she and Akshay Kumar co-starred in the war thriller Airlift. Kaur began portraying Rebecca Yedlin in the second season of the American drama Wayward Pines in 2016. She returned as a regular on Homeland for its eighth and final season in February 2020. The social thriller Happy Teachers Day, starring Nimrat and produced by Dinesh Vijan, will be released later this year. It was directed by National Award–winning director Mikhil Musale.
