The scrunchie is commonplace. Since its inception in 1986, the scrunchie has fluctuated in popularity in pop culture and fashion, but it has resolutely resisted going away.

While some lauded it as a wonderful design that is both functional and fashionable, others criticised it as a “suburbs” accessory.

Rommy Hunt Revson, a former singer and pianist who is widely recognised with developing fabric-wrapped elastic, has left her mark on the fashion industry regardless of the circumstances.

Revson’s estate lawyer, Alan Rothfeld, revealed that a ruptured ascending aorta was the cause of death in an interview with The New York Times. She also sought treatment for both Cushing’s disease and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. She died on September 7 at the age of 78.
