11th March, Mumbai: Luv Ranjan ‘s directed movie “Tu jhooti Mai makkar” hit the silver screens on Wednesday i.e 8th of March on the eve of festival of colors Holi. The movie starred Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor and this new onscreen Jodi is being loved and is also receiving a lot of appreciation from the audiences.
This beautiful rom – com has grossed almost 15.73 crores on its first day of box office collection. Whereas on the second day it has grossed a total of 13.91 crores worldwide. Which obviously is not a bad deal . This amazingly blended movie with an impressive storyline depicts the love life of today’s youth and the insecurities they are dealing with in their day to day life.
This superb movie also earned well due to its release on the occasion of Holi which was an official holiday. In Mumbai the movie didn’t gross well due to the early celebration and holiday of Holi. The other reason was the unique plot that the movie had, this movie of luv Ranjan was quite different from his earlier movies in which he used to portray women as ambitious,gold digger and manipulative and men were seen as victims in love and relationship . This time the director had put romance over bromance. Apart from the lead roles the actors in supportive roles have also done a great job and have made the movie quite engaging . With this movie Dimple kapadia, Boney Kapoor and Anubhav Bassi have made their debuts with this wonderful movie . Meanwhile Nusharratt Bharuccha and Kartik Aaryan have done the cameo .
Ranbir shraddha starrer movie has got a good start and has earned more than 28 crores till now and is expected to earn more in the coming weeks . Whereas kartik’s movie shehzada turned out to be a complete box office disaster.
