30 Cr Workers to Strike Feb 12 Against Govt Policies

New Delhi (India) February 10:The joint platform of 10 central trade unions said the nationwide general strike on February 12 is currently firmly on, with an expected attendance count of 30 crore workers nationwide. The unions have been calling for a strike call since January 9, 2025, to demonstrate their resistance to anti-worker, anti-farmer and anti-national pro-corporate policies of the central government.

Strike Gains Momentum with 30 Crore Workers

All India Trade Union Congress General Secretary Amarjeet Kaur informs reporters this time, not less than 30 crore workers will take part in the strike called on February 12. The strike is against the central government. She said around 25 crore workers had joined the agitation.
She said the strike is expected to affect 600 districts, more than the roughly 550 districts affected last year. The unions’ estimates are based on strong preparations at the district and block levels, with farmers and other federations pledging solidarity as well, Kaur added.
