Social Media Users Ask About Protest Return

While addressing a public meeting on Wednesday, Dipke said they were receiving so many social media messages for the last few days which asks when season 2 of their Jantar Mantar protest would begin.

"Many people were commenting on Instagram about when Season 2 of 'Jantar-Mantar' will begin. I want to tell them that Season 2 of 'Jantar-Mantar' is going to start very soon," he said.

Dipke Claims Political Pressure

Dipke claimed the CJP had booked a hall for its volunteers' meeting which was denied to the organisers at the entry, saying it was under "pressure" on owners for not letting the meeting. He said his party was denied space at several other places in that locality for having its meetings and asserted that people were being threatened for helping them organise any meeting. Dipke also claimed that the venue that was finally decided, too, came under pressure on the morning of the meeting, threatening the banquet hall owner of consequences if they allowed any CJP meeting. 

“We were scheduled to hold our volunteers’ meet in Delhi today. We were looking for a hall but no one agreed to rent out one to us. Everyone kept saying there was pressure from above and that they cannot give a hall to the CJP. At least 10 places refused to give us space, saying if they did so, they would invite trouble,” Dipke said.

“It was after a lot of difficulty that we managed to get a hall. We also have a receipt of the booking. But the people who gave us the hall were also threatened and told that if they allowed a CJP meeting to take place there, they would be turned upside down and hung,” he added.

Dipke Alleges BJP Intimidation

Blaming the BJP, Dipke claimed that they would not be "deterred" by such actions from running their activities. 

“The people are being threatened in this manner. Efforts are being made to prevent us from holding such meetings. All this is being done by the BJP. Their actions and words clearly reveal that they are afraid of the country's youth. If they think such petty actions will frighten us, they are purely mistaken,” he said.

37-Day Jantar Mantar Protest

This comes after the CJP suspended its 37-day protest at Jantar Mantar on July 25 after the resignation by the then Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other demands of the protesters that will be met by the ministry with further assurances.

The CJP agitation against the NEET-UG paper leak issue witnessed participation of students and volunteers from across India. Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had come to protest, sat on an indefinite fast and was later admitted to Safdarjung Hospital with deterioration in his health condition.
