CJP To Emerge As Public Pressure Group, Says Dipke

"People have lost faith in the judiciary, politics, media and the Election Commission. Our agitation received nationwide support. As the agitation grew, the support was not merely limited to education issues, it was also about these institutions. Hence, to bring accountability in these institutions, there is a need for a public pressure group," Dipke said.

CJP Leadership Meets To Decide Next Move

Throughout the last week, the CJP leadership discussed, with members of the extended family, what they ought to do next. 

"The defeat of this arrogant government at the hands of the youth shows that when young people come together, they can achieve anything," Saurav Das said.

"Our team is working to put together the best possible path forward to channel the expectations of our youth into meaningful action," he added.

CJP Reject Speculation Over Political Ambitions

The largest students’ collective to emerge in recent years, the CJP said it’s not aiming to form an entirely new party, rather they are a movement grassroots- and not the existing, ineffectual political parties. They may draw inspiration and assistance from activist SonamWangchuk, who lent intellectual support to their past agitation.

Party chief spokesperson Saurav Das added, “There are already plenty of political parties. If people still have pain, suffering, and anguish, it means the answer is not a political party. The answer is a grassroots-level movement, an awakening. And that's what the CJP is doing.”

CJP To Join JPSC Paper Leak Protest In Ranchi

In a press conference, Dipke outlined several plans of action in Ranchi in particular. The protest in Jharkhand due to a paperleak and evaluation manipulation in the14th JPSC Civil Services Exam will be continued by protesters in the stadium, along with their other demands. Dipke said that volunteers and organisers would join protests in Ranchi. In addition, the protestors' hunger strike, aimed at demanding federal investigation in the regional recruitment process, is also in full swing, to achieve its goal.

"We will definitely go to Jharkhand. We will stand with the student aspirants and support every single demand of their agitation," Dipke said.

Earlier last month, Dipke launched the CJP’s protests against rampant and corrupt paper leaks in the NEET exam. The movement's sheer size has resulted in concerns in some quarters about its potential political ambitions,although its leaders assert such actions have not been discussed. They say that rather than setting up yet another political party in a country already fraught with challenges, they need to build organizations to keep governments and other institutions on their toes.
