10th September 2023, Mumbai: The G20 Summit, a significant platform for global leaders, commenced in India’s capital, Delhi, on September 9th. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the event saw an exceptional turnout of world leaders, and the culmination of the summit on September 10th was marked by a visit to Rajghat, paying respects to Mahatma Gandhi.
PM Modi, in his address, emphasized, “India beckons the world to transform the global trust deficit into trust and reliance. It’s time for us all to progress together.”
Macron Lauds India’s Role
As the summit wrapped up, France’s President, Emmanuel Macron, expressed gratitude towards PM Modi and commended India’s role. Macron stressed the importance of extensive reforms in global governance structures. He remarked, “There’s an impending need for deep reforms not only in the Security Council but also in global institutions like the World Bank and IMF, reflecting the realities of today’s population and economy.”
