Astrologer arrested in Noida

The man is named Ashwini Kumar. He is 51 years old. He is from Patliputra in Bihar. According to the police, he had been a resident of Noida for the last five years. He works as an astrologer. Police are taking the man from Noida to Mumbai after seizing his SIM card and phone.

The police FIR claims that the accused's making terror threats in Mumbai is because of an old fight with a friend.

Old rivalry with friend led to fake terror threat

The FIR against Ashwini claims that he sent the Mumbai Traffic Police a terror threat SMS in an attempt to "frame" his friend Firoz.

Due to a complaint that Firoz filed in Phulwari Sharif, Patna, Ashwini was arrested in 2023. He spent three months in jail. In revenge, Ashwini sent a threatening WhatsApp message to Mumbai under Firoz's identity.

The police statement says, “Ashwini spent three months in jail after Firoz registered a case against him in the Phulwari Sharif police station in Bihar's Patna. Angered by the action, he posed as Firoz and sent bomb threats to Mumbai to implicate him”.

Ashwini was found in possession of seven cell phones, three SIM cards, six memory card holders, one external SIM slot, two digital cards, four SIM card holders, and one memory card holder.

Laxmi Singh is the head of Noida police. She established special teams to find him after receiving a request from Mumbai Police. The Mumbai Police took Ashwini into custody after the police team arrested him. Ashwini lived in the Sector 113 police station area. The SIM card and cell phone he used to send the threat have been confiscated.

City placed on high alert after threat claiming ‘34 human bombs’

The warning was posted to the Mumbai Traffic Police's official WhatsApp number. It stated that 34 cars had been placed with "human bombs" and that explosions would "shake" the city.

According to police, the sender identified themselves as "Lashkar-e-Jihadi,". He claimed that 14 terrorists from Pakistan had infiltrated India. 400 kg of RDX will explode and kill "one crore people." The city was put on high alert even though a senior officer claimed the threat seemed to be a fake.
