26 June 2023, Mumbai: Chhattisgarh’s famous comedian Devraj Patel has met with a fatal accident during a video shoot in Raipur, leading to his untimely demise. Devraj Patel gained immense popularity across the country with his widely circulated dialogue “Dil se bura lagta hai” (It hurts from the heart). The incident, which occurred on Monday in Raipur, has left the state mourning.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed his grief over the loss and tweeted about Devraj Patel’s contribution in making people laugh.
Devraj Patel, originally from Mahasamund district, was involved in video production in Raipur. While shooting a video on Monday, the tragic accident took place in the Labhandi area of Raipur, involving a high-speed truck. Devraj Patel lost his life at the scene. He hailed from the Dabpali village in Mahasamund district, where his entire family resides. His father, Ghanshyam Patel, is a farmer, and he also has a brother named Hemant Patel.
Devraj Patel had a YouTube channel with over 400,000 subscribers and his videos garnered millions of views. He created comedic videos on various subjects. In 2021, he collaborated with popular comedian Bhuvan Bam from Delhi and worked on projects together. He also appeared in documentary films produced by the Chhattisgarh government. As a result, he shared a close bond with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Last year, he had created a video with the Chief Minister, which went viral on social media. Today, Devraj Patel had also posted his last video on Instagram.
