Elon Musk reacts to Epstein files, ‘I pushed hardest for their release’

“No one pushed harder than me to have the Epstein files released, and I’m glad it has finally happened. I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to his island or to fly on his ‘Lolita Express,’ but I was aware that some email exchanges could be misinterpreted and used to smear my name. I don’t care about that. What I do care about is ensuring that those who committed serious crimes with Epstein, especially the heinous exploitation of underage girls, are prosecuted,” Musk wrote.

His statement came shortly after the US Justice Department released what it called the final set of documents connected to the late convicted sex offender.

Justice Department Makes Millions of Records Public

The Justice Department later released millions of pages of material regarding Epstein on Friday, finally ending a process that had come under intense worldwide scrutiny. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said earlier in the day that the release was the final stage in a pattern of planned disclosures under the law. The final tranche has more than three million pages, about 180,000 images and nearly 2,000 videos. Officials stressed that just because a person’s name appears in the files does not mean that one is doing anything wrong — citing unverified references or claims made by third-party sources.

High-Profile Names Mentioned

The documents reference several prominent political, business, and cultural figures. Among them is former President Donald Trump, while an email subject line mentions Ivanka Trump alongside Jared Kushner, referencing Vicky Ward’s book.
