Iran Warns Bushehr Strikes Risk Radioactive Fallout Over GCC Nations, Not Tehran

Araghchi Slams West's Silence

Araghchi felt Western governments should have spoken up about the latest Bushehr attacks. Iran's Foreign Minister implied that the geography of Bushehr might allow the nuclear fallout to primarily affect the countries surrounding the Gulf, like Bahrain Kuwait Oman Qatar Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), rather than Iran's capital, Tehran.
He asked, “Remember the Western outrage about hostilities near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine?”
"Israel US have bombed our Bushehr plant four times now. Radioactive fallout will end life in Gulf Cooperation Council capitals, not Tehran. Attacks on our petrochemicals also convey real objectives,” he said.

UN Warned of Severe Radioactive Risk

Iran was also cautioned about the "risk of severe radioactive contamination" arising from the power plant attacks in a similar letter addressed to the United Nations.
"The repeated attacks by the aggressors in the vicinity of the active Bushehr nuclear power plant are of great concern. They expose the entire region to a serious risk of radioactive contamination with grave human and environmental consequences," he said in his letter.
This recent attack on Bushehr happens as the US and Israel have decided to further intensify their campaign against Iranian manufacturing units. The risk involved in targeting nuclear and petrochemical establishments cannot be ignored.

WHO Chief Urges De-Escalation

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization warned of the dangers associated with nuclear facilities in Iran.
He said, "I join the IAEA in raising the alarm again over the safety of nuclear facilities in Iran. The latest incident involving the Bushehr nuclear power plant is a stark reminder: a strike could trigger a nuclear accident, with health impacts that would devastate generations. With every passing day of this escalating conflict, the stakes and threats are raised higher and higher. We must de-escalate now. Peace is the best medicine.”

Fourth Strike Kills Guard, No Radiation Spike Yet
