Court Grants Quick ₹20K Bail

After his arrest, police placed him before the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate at 10 a.m., pursuing 14 days of judicial custody.
Anant Sharma, an attorney for the accused, stated that the court refused to grant that, and issued bail on a personal bond amounting to ₹20,000. 

Police Hunt with 5 Teams Forms

DCP Central Kanpur Atul Kumar Srivastava said the police had received particular details on his presence in the city after which five teams were formed to pursue him.
The investigation proved and confirmed Mishra was behind the wheel of the Lamborghini when the accident happened, while the authorities in the days after the accident had been trying to catch him. At the time of the court hearing, the officials said Shivam was caught during his non-cooperation in the investigation and evading the police. 

Limping Accused Faces Medical Check

Shivam did a routine medical check-up before being taken to the court. Visuals that emerged shortly after Shivam's arrest showed him limping and leaning on police personnel and others for support as he was being taken to the medical test room.

Crash Unfolds on VIP Road

The incident took place around 3 pm on VIP Road after a luxury Italian sports car, the Lamborghini Revuelto priced at over Rs 10 crore, crashed into pedestrians and other cars, stopping after mounting a divider.
An FIR was subsequently filed by an injured 18-year-old e-rickshaw driver Mohd Taufeeq. 

Dramatic Driver Switch Claim by Mohan

The case had taken a dramatic turn the day before, as a man named Mohan claimed that he was the designated driver and said that he and not Shivam was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
Mohan told reporters standing outside a court that Shivam, seated beside him, suffered a sudden seizure moments before the impact leading to the crash. 

Evidence Nails Shivam as Driver

Despite the claim, police said the evidence was squarely pointing at Shivam. Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal said CCTV footage, eyewitness reports and other material indicate Shivam was driving when the Lamborghini crashed into people and vehicles.
Originally, the FIR was lodged against an unidentified driver but was later amended to include Shivam as the accused.
