Re-Opening of Puri Jagannath Temple Gates
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that the Odisha government will re-open all four gates of the Puri Jagannath Temple. This change will start early Thursday morning, allowing devotees to enter through all gates. This fulfils a promise from the BJP's election. Previously, the BJD government kept three gates closed due to COVID-19, causing inconvenience to devotees.
Fund for Temple Preservation
The Cabinet created a ₹ 500 crore fund to maintain and preserve the 12th-century Jagannath Temple. This fund will address any immediate needs for the temple.
Increasing Minimum Support Price for Paddy
The government will raise paddy's minimum support price (MSP) to ₹ 3100 per quintal. A committee will soon be formed to implement this proposal. This is part of a new policy called "Samruddha Krushak Niti Yojana," addressing farmers' issues.
Subhadra Yojana for Women Empowerment
In response to the previous administration's shortcomings in women and child welfare, the new government will introduce the Subhadra Yojana. Under this plan, each woman will receive a ₹ 50,000 cash voucher. Guidelines and roadmaps for this program will be prepared within 100 days.
Commitment to Farmers
The government is dedicated to supporting farmers through the new policy and raising the MSP. Departments have been instructed to create guidelines and a roadmap for these initiatives within the first 100 days of the administration.
