POLITICS OF TAMIL NADU:

Since the states formation politics of Tamil Nadu revolves around 2 parties DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) and AIDMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam). In 2019 DMK+ secured 38 out of 39 while in 2014 AIDMK bagged 37 out of 39 seats. This time DMK has alliance with INC under the banner I.N.D.I.A while BJP has joined hands with 9 local parties. Polls across the State for Lok Sabha 2024 will be held on 19 April 2024.

STATE GOVERNMENT:

As of now DMK is in power in the state and MK Stalin is the Chief Minister of the State. MK Stalin has good hold over the state and since independence no Centre party has ever come to power or near opposition due to various social and political factors major of which is “Hindi factor”. Since independence Tamil Nadu has opposed Hindi imposition and brahmanical practices. Due to non hindi speaking population no Centre party has been able to deliver its promises and guarantees to the voters which is why this year also competition is not for winning seats but for increase in vote share.

FACTORS FAVOURING I.N.D.I.A.:

INDIA Alliance has upper hand in the state due to regional party of DMK. Alliance has much hope from Tamil Nadu. Due to State Govt. Policy of giving 1Cr women fixed income of 1000/- per month alliance has almost secured its vote bank and focuses on bigger margin in winning seats.

FACTORS FAVOURING BJP:

BJP since its formation has continuously failed to appease people of Tamil Nadu and has never won any Vidhan Sabha or Lok Sabha polls in this region. So like every year this year also BJP is not focusing on winning seats but increasing vote share. Party is trying hard to convince people that DMK focuses only on its family welfare and alleges DMK and Congress that they are betraying fishermen on “Kachhadweep matter”. However this year BJP is confident to give tough competition to other parties due to their fire brand politician K. Annamalai who with his aggressive rallies has increased competition on some seats.

ANNAMALAI AND MODI FACTOR:

Also known as Yogi of Tamil Nadu BJP’s firebrand politician and state BJP Leader K. Annamalai is an X factor for BJP. Annamalai’s aggressive rallies and roadshows have slightly tilted things in favour of BJP. Former IPS Annamalai is popular amongst youth of Tamil Nadu and will contest from Coimbatore Seat. PM Modi’s rallies, roadshows and “Modi ki Guarantee” factor is going to be boon for BJP in the state.

COMPETITIVE SEATS:

As per ground reality reports seats of Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, Vellore, Chidambaram, Chennai Central, Thirupur, Theni, Ramanantpuram, Tirunelveli, Peramballoor, Dharampuri and Chennai South will be facing intence competition between NDA and I.N.D.I.A.
