Sonakshi Sinha Hits Back at Mukesh Khanna’s Parenting Comments
Sonakshi defends her father after Mukesh Khanna blames him for her lack of Ramayana knowledge.
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] December 17 : Sonakshi Sinha has responded sharply to Mukesh Khanna’s remarks about her upbringing. The actor recently commented on an old incident where Sonakshi, during a quiz show, could not answer a question about the Ramayana. Mukesh blamed her father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, for not teaching her about Indian culture.
In an interview, Mukesh said, “Sonakshi’s lack of knowledge is not her fault. It’s her father’s fault. Parents should teach their children about our traditions and history. Why did they become so modern?”
Sonakshi took to social media to defend her father and call out Mukesh Khanna’s statements. She wrote, “Dear Mukesh Khanna ji, I read your statement blaming my father for something I didn’t know on a show years ago. Let me remind you, there were two women on that hot seat who didn’t know the answer, but you’ve chosen to target only me for reasons that are obvious.”
Sonakshi also highlighted the hypocrisy in Mukesh’s remarks. “It seems you’ve forgotten Lord Ram’s lessons on respect and fairness. My parents raised me with values like kindness, humility, and the strength to handle unwarranted criticism with grace.”
The actor further stated, “This incident happened years ago, but you keep bringing up my name. My knowledge or lack of it doesn’t give you the right to question my upbringing or my parents.”
Many fans have praised Sonakshi for standing up against unfair criticism, calling her response dignified and powerful.
