RCB Bowlers Shine as GT Post 155/8 in IPL 2026 Final

Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar made their mark early on, dismissing Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan during the Powerplay. Rasikh Salam Dar also shone with his best season-leading spell, claiming 3 wickets for just 27 runs. Amidst the batting collapse, Washington Sundar stood tall for the Titans, escaping an early scare. He anchored the innings, scoring a solid fifty that included five boundaries, helping GT cross the 150-run threshold.

Nishant Sindhu was the only other GT batter to score more than 20 runs, as the in-form opening pair of Gill and Sudharsan fell cheaply. 

Earlier in the evening, RCB won the toss and chose to field. Before the match, RCB had had a well-timed rest before the final. RCB last played on Tuesday, May 26, where they convincingly defeated the Titans in Qualifier 1 to secure their spot in the final. On the other hand, GT had a tougher journey, traveling from Dharamsala to Chandigarh for the second qualifier, where they triumphed over their rivals, the Rajasthan Royals, to earn their place in the final.

However, bad weather delayed their departure from Chandigarh, leaving them fatigued and without practice time, which could be a setback for Gill's team. As RCB aims for a historic second consecutive title, the Titans are looking to reclaim their IPL crown after their victory in 2022.
