Emotional Final Rites
Rinku proceeded to his hometown in Aligarh from Chennai for the final rituals. India batter appeared numb as he bore his father’s dead body.
Rinku was shown wearing a blue cap, as he carried his father’s remains to perform final rites under the tight security arrangements as he performed the final rites in a video that has since gone viral.

The big names in Indian cricket like Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh have expressed their condolences to him on social media.
“Deeply saddened by the news of Rinku’s father’s demise. My heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. May you always find strength in his eternal blessings. Om Shanti,” said Kohli.
Yuvraj Stands in Solidarity
Former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to X to offer condolences and said his thoughts and prayers are with Rinku Singh and his family while they navigate this hard time in their lives.

Sehwag Honors Father's Legacy
Virender Sehwag also took to X to offer his condolences, declaring his thoughts are with Rinku.
He said, "Rinku, deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your father. Your father raised a truly strong and wonderful son through so many sacrifices, and that is his greatest legacy. Stay strong, @rinkusingh235. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your entire family. Om Shanti”
Rinku's Tough Return
Two days prior to a crucial Super 8 tie by India against Zimbabwe at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Rinku had left the Indian camp and flown out of Chennai Tuesday to be beside his family at Greater Noida’s Yatharth Hospital after his father’s health deteriorated.
Initially doubtful for the Zimbabwe game, he joined the Indian side back in Chennai where he played for a time as a substitute after being replaced in the XI by Sanju Samson.
Rinku's season in India has been concluded up until now by playing five matches for the country in the T20 World Cup 2026 with a total of 24 runs scored up to date which is tied at a high of 11 not out.
