A billion cricket fans and the players were left feeling overly emotional when India fell to England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup and was eliminated from the competition on Thursday. England decisively defeated Rohit Sharma and company by 10 wickets after outplaying them in every way.
After the outcome, the India players’ faces clearly showed the sorrow of the humiliating loss. Rohit Sharma, the team’s captain who guided them to the semifinals, was spotted sobbing in the dugout after the game.
Soon after the game came to an end, an emotional video of Rohit crying and hunched down spread like fire on social media.
Team India had a terribly awful day in the elimination round as England thrashed them and advanced directly to the championship game. England’s opening pair of Alex Hales and Jos Buttler set a record partnership to eliminate India from the competition after holding them to a par total of 168 on an excellent batting pitch.
The finals will take place on Sunday in Melbourne with England taking on Pakistan.
