10 August 2023, Mumbai: SBI Card, in collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has introduced a new feature that allows SBI credit cardholders to link their cards to the RuPay platform via UPI. Starting from August 10, 2023, SBI Card customers can utilize this functionality to conduct UPI transactions using their credit cards issued on RuPay. To enable this feature, users need to register their credit cards with third-party UPI apps. This integration aims to enhance the convenience and seamlessness of payments for SBI Card users on the RuPay platform through UPI merchants.

UPI Transactions via SBI Credit Cards

By enrolling their active primary cards on UPI, cardholders can easily make payments to merchants using their SBI credit cards. This feature applies to both Point of Sale (PoS) payments and e-commerce transactions. The process for making PoS payments using UPI on a credit card is straightforward. Users need to scan the merchant’s UPI QR Code using their preferred UPI-enabled third-party app. After entering the payment amount and selecting their SBI RuPay Credit Card linked to UPI, they can authorize the transaction by entering their 6-digit UPI PIN.

Simple Steps for Making Point of Sale Payments with UPI

For e-commerce transactions, customers can select the UPI-enabled app linked to their credit card as the payment mode on the merchant’s website or app. Once logged into the UPI-enabled app, users can choose their registered SBI RuPay Credit Card from the list of available accounts. After confirming the payment using their 6-digit UPI PIN, a payment confirmation will be displayed, and users will be redirected to the merchant’s page upon completion of the transaction.

Mobile Number Linkage: Key to Successful Credit Card – UPI Integration

It’s important to note that successful credit card linking with UPI requires the cardholder’s mobile number registered with SBI Card to also be linked with UPI. This ensures a smooth and secure process when making UPI transactions using SBI credit cards on the RuPay platform.

This innovative integration between SBI Card and the RuPay platform brings added convenience to customers, allowing them to leverage their credit cards for UPI transactions. With this feature, SBI Card aims to provide an enhanced and seamless payments experience for its users, further solidifying its commitment to offering innovative and customer-centric solutions in the digital payments space.
