While the mainstream media seems unable to move past the passing of the Queen of Britain, political and civic events appear to be spiralling out of control with an exponential rise in the rate at which things can go wrong.

The Tigrayan capital, Mekelle, was the target of an airstrike by the Ethiopian government. Unexpected drone attacks on the city resulted in the bombardment of multiple public locations, including a school, a university, and a bustling local market. Numerous innocent persons lost their lives as a result of the airstrike, and public property was vandalised.

The attack was a result of an ongoing civil conflict between the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), an ethnic militia from the Tigray region of Ethiopia, and the Ethiopian federal government, which is led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of the recently founded Prosperity Party (PP).
