When a man went on a stabbing rampage in a crowded Sydney shopping district, Australia, at least six people were killed. The Sydney Morning Herald and news.au.com, two Australian news outlets, reported that the attacker was fatally shot by the police.
Eyewitnesses’ confession
A witness who was in a neighbouring cafe with his two small children when the incident started described it as “carnage.”
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, told ABC News that he had seen a man “stabbing people indiscriminately” abruptly.
Located east of Sydney’s central business district and near the well-known Bondi Beach, the Westfield mall is a large shopping facility where the attack occurred.
