Allu Arjun Summoned For Probe Into Pushpa 2 Screening Stampede Case

Telugu actor Allu Arjun has been issued a notice to appear before police on Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation into the stampede during the screening of ‘Pushpa 2’ on December 4, police sources revealed. Chikkadpally Police Inspector Raju Naik confirmed that Arjun has been asked to report at 11 AM. The ‘Pushpa’ actor has previously expressed his willingness to cooperate with the investigation. The notice follows the release of CCTV footage by Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, detailing the sequence of events leading to the tragedy at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The incident resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman, while her eight-year-old son was hospitalised. A case was registered at Chikkadpally police station against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint from the deceased woman's family. Allu Arjun, named as accused number 11 in the case, was arrested by city police on December 13 in connection with the woman’s death. However, the Telangana High Court granted him four-week interim bail the same day, leading to his release from prison on the morning of December 14. Meanwhile, a Hyderabad court has granted bail to six individuals accused of vandalising actor Allu Arjun's residence in Jubilee Hills. The accused appeared in court on Monday morning and were granted bail, according to ANI, citing advocate Ramdas. The incident occurred on Sunday when a group of protestors stormed Allu Arjun's home, holding placards and shouting slogans. One protestor reportedly climbed the compound wall and began throwing tomatoes, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Hyderabad. Police detained six individuals who claimed to be members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC). Allu Arjun was not at home when the incident took place, reported PTI quoting police sources. Following the incident, security was beefed up at the actor's residence.
