Amid rising tensions in the nation, ICAI postpones the remaining CA exams
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has declared that the remaining papers for the Chartered Accountants final would be postponed due to the growing tensions between India and Pakistan.

New Delhi (India) May 9: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has postponed the remaining Chartered Accountants Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course Examinations from May 9th to May 14th, 2025, due to increased tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam attacks and increasing cross-border firing.
The remaining concerns for the CA Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course (PQC) exams [International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT AT)] have been updated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for May 2025. Given the tensions and present environment in the nation, the ICAI CA May 2025 test has been postponed.
"In partial modification of the Institute’s Important Announcement No. 13-CA (EXAM)/2025 dated 13th January 2025, it is announced for general information that in view of the tense and security situation in the Country, the remaining papers of Chartered Accountants Final, Intermediate and Post Qualification Course Examinations [International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT AT)] May 2025 from 9th May 2025 to 14th May 2025, stand postponed," said ICAI in an official statement.
ICAI also said in its latest tweet that,“The revised dates will be announced in due course. The candidates are advised to stay in touch with the website of the institute, www.icai.org.”
Before the official announcement, Central Council Member CA Rohit Ruwatia Agarwal wrote that,“We have suggested to the exam department to postpone all India. Waiting for the information from exam department. Let’s all work together to safeguard our nation.”
The initial approach stated May 8, 10, and 13 to be the dates of the CA Final Group II tests. The scheduled dates for the CA Intermediate Group II papers were May 9, 11, and 14. These are all now included in the announcement on the ICAI test postponement.
Also, the four-hour-long Post Qualification Course (PQC) International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT – AT) has been rescheduled.
Exams for the CA Foundation course will proceed as planned.
Exams for CA Intermediate Group I (May 3, 5, 7) and CA Final Group I (May 2, 4, 6) have already taken place.
There is no effect on the remaining CA Final Exams, which are scheduled for May 15, 17, 19, and 21.
