Who is Joseph Vijay?

Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, popularly known as Thalapathy Vijay, is an Indian actor and politician who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He is one of the highest-paid actors in South India and has built a massive fan following through blockbuster films, strong screen presence, and philanthropic activities. Apart from acting, Vijay is also known for his political involvement through his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.

Early Life

Joseph Vijay was born on June 22, 1974, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He was raised in a film-oriented family, which influenced his early interest in cinema. Vijay began appearing in films as a child artist under the direction of his father and gradually developed a passion for acting.

Career

Vijay began his career as a child actor in films directed by his father. He made his debut as a lead actor with Naalaiya Theerpu in 1992. Over the years, he delivered several successful films including Ghilli, Thuppakki, Mersal, Master, and Leo. His popularity grew rapidly because of his commercial entertainers, energetic dance performances, and mass appeal. Apart from cinema, Vijay also entered politics by launching his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.

Education

Vijay completed his schooling in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He later attended Loyola College, Chennai, where he pursued Visual Communications before focusing fully on his acting career.
