ICC T20I Rankings: Kishan No.2, Samson at 22nd, Pandya Tops All-Rounders

New Delhi (India) March 12:Ishan Kishan has made significant progress in his cricketing career, now ranking second in the ICC T20I batting standings. He is just behind his teammate Abhishek Sharma, marking the highest position he has ever achieved in T20I rankings.
Kishan has become India’s second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, racking up an impressive 317 runs across nine matches. His performances included fifties against teams like Pakistan, Namibia, and New Zealand, solidifying his status as one of India’s standout players during the competition.

Samson Jumps to 22nd After World Cup

Sanju Samson also had an impressive run, scoring 321 runs in the tournament and achieving three consecutive fifties. His remarkable efforts earned him the Player of the Series Award at the World Cup, and he climbed 18 places in the rankings, moving from 40th to 22nd.
Although he struggled to find his rhythm early in the tournament, he truly found his form in a crucial match against the West Indies at Eden Gardens. From that moment, he did not look back, delivering stellar performances in must-win games against the West Indies, England, and New Zealand, including an unbeaten 97 and two scores of 89.

Abhishek's Final 50 Saves Top Rank

Abhishek Sharma, currently India’s top T20I batter, faced challenges during the tournament, managing only 89 runs in seven games. However, his dazzling 18-ball fifty in the final helped him retain his top ranking—at least for now. Meanwhile, all-rounder Shivam Dube climbed four spots to 27th in the updated rankings.
On the other hand, Tilak Varma and captain Suryakumar Yadav saw their rankings drop following the T20 World Cup.

Chakravarthy Falls in Latest Rankings

In the bowlers' category, India’s Varun Chakravarthy lost his top position to Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, despite not having played any matches in the past week.
Chakravarthy slipped to second place, while Jasprit Bumrah (up to sixth), and Axar Patel (up six spots to 17th) were recognized for their solid performances during the tournament.

Pandya, Raza Rule All-Rounder Charts

The competition among T20I all-rounders remains fierce, with Zimbabwe's captain Sikandar Raza and India’s Hardik Pandya achieving new career-high ratings, taking the top two spots in this category.
The rankings update followed India’s triumphant 96-run victory over New Zealand in the final held in Ahmedabad on March 8, which secured their place in his tory as the first team ever to win three T20 World Cup titles.
