Dog's Cut Head uncovered in Fridge at Momo Bakery Near Chandigarh

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] March 18: Officials from Punjab's Mohali health department began an investigation into how dirty a momo and spring roll made was after finding a dog's head cut off in a fridge in the facility.

After seeing a video of the spring roll and momo factory in Mataur village, Mohali, working in very dirty situations, the officials paid attention to this section.

As one of the officials searched the unit carefully, they found the chopped head of a dog, what looked like a pug's head, in a fridge.  An India Today story said that officials made it clear that it wasn't used in the food that was being made at the facility. Rather, they said that the unit workers, who are from Nepal, were using it, reports said.

Over five hundred momos and spring rolls were sent to Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Kalka every day by the factory for the past two years.

Food samples and a dog's head are sent for inspection .

The health department teams also took samples of rotting meat and other food items found inside the unit, like momos, spring rolls, and sauces.

It was also said that the dog's severed head was sent to the Health Department to see if it was being used in any of their products.

A ₹12,000 charge was given to the owner of the factory by the Mohali municipality. Another ₹10,000 fine was given because a lot of plastic bags were found.As per' Parminder Pal Singh, commissioner of the municipal corporation, teams from the health department and the MC raided the food unit on Monday to take strong action against dirty conditions there.

"We will not only give challans, but we will also check to see if these food units have the right licenses to do business in the village area and take action against them if they don't." "Our main goal is to keep people from eating bad food," Singh stated.
