11th September 2023,Mumbai: The Legacy of YRKKH

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, often abbreviated as YRKKH, is a television show that has managed to capture the hearts of viewers for a staggering 15 years. Despite the passage of time, the show’s popularity continues to soar with each new episode. A significant credit for this enduring appeal goes to the exceptional storytelling by Rajan Shahi and his team of writers. Their ability to intricately carve out the characters has made this show an evergreen favorite.

The Third Generation Saga

Currently, YRKKH is weaving the narrative of its third generation. Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod grace the screen as Abhimanyu and Akshara, affectionately known as #AbhiRa. Their on-screen chemistry has ignited a spark among the audience, drawing them into the passionate love story that unfolds with each episode. But before #AbhiRa, there were other beloved couples who graced the show, each leaving their unique mark.

Kartik and Naira: The Magical Duo

Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi portrayed the enchanting love story of Kartik and Naira, fondly referred to as #KaiRa. Their chemistry was nothing short of magical, and their journey through trials and tribulations had viewers hooked. The romance between Kartik and Naira became a benchmark for passionate love stories on Indian television.

A Simpler Tale: Akshara and Naitik

YRKKH’s inaugural love story featured Hina Khan and Karan Mehra as Akshara and Naitik, adoringly termed #NakSh. Their story was a portrayal of an arranged marriage that blossomed into a deep and enduring love. It captured the essence of family values and ‘apnapan’ (closeness) beautifully. For many, Akshara and Naitik’s journey remains etched in their memories as the embodiment of a pure and genuine love story.

Ami Trivedi’s Fondness for Akshara and Naitik

Ami Trivedi, who currently portrays the role of Manjari Birla in the show, recently revealed her favorite YRKKH generation. In an interview with BollywoodLife, she shared her affection for Akshara and Naitik’s story. She disclosed, “I was following Akshara and Naitik’s story. My mother-in-law and everyone were ardent viewers, and I used to be back from shoot by the time Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai began. So, I have followed Akshara and Naitik’s story to an extent. I have enjoyed that story a lot. There was a lot of ‘apnapan’ and a family value vibe. It was a very sweet and ‘satvik’ story.”

Unable to Witness Kartik and Naira’s Tale

Ami Trivedi also shared her reasons for not being able to follow the subsequent generations of the show. She admitted, “I couldn’t continue watching Kartik and Naira’s story as that time I was busy with a lot of other things. But I have seen the popularity of #KaiRa. And of course, I am definitely biased towards my generation story. My generation is the best. #AbhiRa is the best, and they rule for me. It is a very passionate love story. It is a today’s time love story, and hence people can connect with it.”

In the world of television, where shows come and go, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai stands as a testament to the enduring power of storytelling. From the innocence of Akshara and Naitik’s love to the fiery passion of #AbhiRa, this show has continued to evolve and adapt to the changing tastes of its audience. Ami Trivedi’s fondness for the first generation story is a reminder that while new chapters may be written, the roots of YRKKH run deep in the hearts of its viewers.

YRKKH has not only withstood the test of time but has also managed to reinvent itself, keeping the audience engaged and enamored with each passing generation. As viewers, we cherish the memories of Akshara and Naitik, celebrate the magic of Kartik and Naira, and embrace the intensity of #AbhiRa. It’s a show that continues to touch our hearts, reminding us that true love stories never truly fade away.
