4 July 2023, Mumbai:In a recent Instagram Stories post, renowned Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut indirectly criticised the popular reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2, hosted by Salman Khan. Although she did not mention the show by name, Kangana’s remarks seemed to allude to the ongoing season. Alongside praising her film “Tiku Weds Sheru,” the talented actress shared a screenshot of an article highlighting the impressive viewership numbers the movie has achieved.

“Tiku Weds Sheru” secured the third spot on a list of the “five most-viewed streaming shows and movies of the week,” with a staggering 3.8 million views. With this accomplishment, Kangana expressed her optimism about surpassing the 10 million mark, equating it to the footfall of a ₹100 crore theatrical film. She also emphasised the fact that one television typically caters to multiple viewers within a household, further bolstering her estimation.

The latest season of Bigg Boss OTT 2 premiered on Jio Cinema on June 17, featuring an array of contestants including Falaq Naaz, Akanksha Puri, Anjali Arora, Avinash Sachdev, Palak Pursvani, Pooja Bhatt, Jiya Shankar, Puneet Superstar, Aaliya Siddiqui, Bebika Dhurve, Jad Hadid, Cyrus Broacha, Manisha Rani, and Abhishek Malhan. Several eliminations have taken place thus far, including Puneet Superstar, Akanksha, and Aaliya.

The previous season of Bigg Boss OTT was streamed on Voot and hosted by Karan Johar, with Divya Agarwal emerging as the winner.

Kangana’s production venture, “Tiku Weds Sheru,” directed by Sai Kabir Srivastav, has been receiving positive attention. The film stars acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur in lead roles and premiered on Prime Video on June 23. During the trailer launch, Kangana revealed that the project was initially titled “Divine Lovers” and was planned to feature the late Irrfan Khan alongside her.

Apart from “Tiku Weds Sheru,” Kangana has an exciting lineup of projects in the works. Her period drama film, “Emergency,” which focuses on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, will mark Kangana’s directorial debut. The highly anticipated movie, also starring Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair, and Shreyas Talpade, is set to hit theatres on November 24. Additionally, Kangana will headline the sequel to the Tamil horror comedy “Chandramukhi,” titled “Chandramukhi 2,” directed by P Vasu. Audiences can also look forward to seeing Kangana in “Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda,” “Tejas,” and “The Incarnation: Sita” in the coming months.

As Kangana Ranaut continues to make her mark in the film industry, her latest project, “Tiku Weds Sheru,” gains momentum, capturing the attention of viewers and solidifying her position as a leading actress and producer in Bollywood.
