14th June 2023, Mumbai: Comedian Tirthanand Rao, renowned for his appearances alongside Kapil Sharma in Sony TV’s Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe, recently shocked fans when he attempted suicide during a live session on social media. However, thanks to the timely intervention of his friends, a tragedy was averted.

During a Facebook live session, Tirthanand Rao, who is also known as Junior Nana Patekar on social media, opened up about his personal struggles. He began by sharing his address and proceeded to narrate the events that led him to take such a drastic step. The comedian revealed that his emotional state had been deeply affected by a woman he was involved with, who had allegedly filed a police complaint against him. In an emotional confession, Rao disclosed, “I am in debt of Rs 3-4 lakh because of this woman.” Since their acquaintance in October of the previous year, Tirthanand Rao had been acquainted with the woman in question. Offering a glimmer of hope amidst his struggles, she had assured him that she would retract all the legal complaints lodged against him. In light of this promise, she extended an invitation for him to temporarily reside at her home for a brief period. However, it seems the situation took a toll on him, as he broke down while recounting the difficulties he had faced in recent years.

Tirthanand Rao even provided detailed information about the woman in question, indicating that he was still living with her. As the live session continued, he tearfully shared that the woman and her daughter were out to meet another man, expressing his profound distress. Consumed by his emotions, he then grabbed an insect killer and poured it into a glass, consuming it before the viewers’ eyes. Fortunately, Rao’s friends were watching the live session and immediately rushed to his residence. Upon finding him unconscious, they promptly called for medical assistance and the police. Thanks to their swift action, Tirthanand Rao was swiftly taken to the hospital, where he received the necessary care.

On the work front, Tirthanand Rao is renowned for his ability to mimic Bollywood actor Nana Patekar. Apart from his collaborations with Kapil Sharma, he has also appeared on popular shows such as The Kapil Sharma Show, Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe, and the TV series Wagle Ki Duniya. Although known for his comedic talent, this incident sheds light on the challenges he has faced behind the scenes.
