25th May 2023, Mumbai: Since her first movie, Heropanti, Kriti Sanon has made significant progress. In films like Luka Chuppi, Panipat, and Bareilly Ki Barfi, she gave some standout performances. Over the past nine years, she has enthralled audiences with her outstanding performances and unmistakable charisma.

With a succession of successful films, Kriti has cemented her reputation as one of the most adored actors in the business. The actress opens out about wanting to accomplish more but felt constrained by her prospects nine years after making her acting debut.

Kriti Sanon reflected on a time in her career when she felt she could have had a bigger impression but had a hard time finding directors ready to take a chance on her in an interview with Hindustan Times. When questioned about those instances, she regarded the experience as challenging yet instructive.

Kriti Sanon said, “When you do not come from a film background, it anyway takes time for people even to know your name. So I wanted them to know my name, and that name to name to resonate with talent.” She confessed that she always ‘craved for validation.’

“I always craved validation as an actor. That started happening with Bareilly Ki Barfi, and then Luka Chuppi did really well. I was taking baby steps in the right direction. Of course, after Mimi, there has been a huge shift, I got my first set of best actor awards. It took eight years for it to happen,”

The actress continued by saying she felt she could make better films but that producers were reluctant to take a chance on her.

She said, “There were a lot of moments of that… knowing I could do more, but not having the kind of opportunities I wanted on my table. When you come from the outside, you don’t know people, and they don’t know you. It takes a while to make an impact and for people to associate with you. You end up doing the best you can with what you are offered. It may not necessarily be the best thing in the world, but every film has taught me something.”

Kriti, along with Prabhas, Sunny Singh, Saif Ali Khan, is now preparing for Adipurush. She will be appearing in The Crew with Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan in another high-profile movie she has in the works.
