Collaborating with Tim Burton in 1985, Reubens starred in “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure,” the character’s feature film debut, which garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success. He returned three years later for a follow-up film, “Big Top Pee-wee,” directed by Randal Kleiser.
