16th May 2023,Mumbai: The Kerala Story won’t be stopping any time soon. The second weekend was only an eye opener if the first weekend and first week were both outstanding. It demonstrated once more that once a movie captures the attention of the audience, there is no turning back. It was just incredible that the second weekend’s revenue increased by over 60% after the first weekend’s total had more than Rs. 20 crores added to it.
With yet another double-digit score being recorded, the film’s weekdays have now also begun on a high note. The movie brought in Rs. 10 crores on Monday last week, and on Monday this week it actually made Rs. 10.30 crores.
This demonstrates that the word of mouth is genuinely positive and spreading quickly enough to draw increasing numbers of visitors. In fact, the film’s earnings last week increased steadily every day, from Rs. 10 crores on Monday to Rs. 12.54 crores on Thursday. This was an unparalleled trend. Since history can’t repeat itself, especially for the same movie, it remains to be seen whether this will occur again in the second week as well.
However, the movie has now achieved a score of Rs. 147.04 crores, solidifying its position as an all-time blockbuster.
By the end of the second week, the Adah Sharma-starring film hopes to reach the 175-crore mark. In the third weekend, it will start its march to the 200-crore club.
