22nd June 2023, Mumbai: In an exciting turn of events, the exceedingly expected trailer of “Neeyat,” a classic murder mystery featuring Vidya Balan as a detective, has taken the internet by storm. Directed by the talented Anu Menon, known for her work on “Shakuntala Devi,” this whodunit film has been drawing comparisons to Agatha Christie’s suspenseful books and Rian Johnson’s basically acclaimed film “Knives Out” (2019).
The story revolves around a wealthy man who welcomes his whole family to an confined, ancient mansion to celebrate his birthday. However, as the night unfolds, tragedy strikes when the man is found dead. Whereas at first accepted to be a suicide, the clever detective played by Vidya Balan uncovers it to be a kill. Each family part gets to be a suspect with a conceivable motive, setting the stage for a gripping story of interest and misdirection. With everybody under investigation, the central address develops: who among them is the true killer?
