A local court extended her judicial custody after her appearance through video call. This decision came after her lawyer confirmed the investigation was still ongoing. Jyoti Malhotra is 33 years old and known for her YouTube channel "Travel with JO". Her videos usually focused on travel content and vlogging. She was arrested from New Aggarsain Extension in Hisar on May 16. The police said she had been in contact with people suspected to be part of Pakistan’s intelligence network. Her regular bail plea had already been rejected earlier by the court, saying the probe is not complete yet.

The police claim that Malhotra had stayed in touch with a Pakistani official named Danish, who worked at the Pakistani High Commission. He was sent back to his country recently for being involved in spying. Officers said she was being developed as a possible future asset by these contacts.
