India and France Collaborate to Create Yuga Yugeen Bharat National Museum

India has joined hands with France Museums Développement (FMD) to bring the Yuga Yugeen Bharat National Museum (YYBNM) to life. The Union Ministry of Culture has launched this ambitious project, which will be located in Delhi and aims to present India's rich history and legacy on an unprecedented scale.

Part of the Redevelopment Project for Central Vista

An essential part of the Central Vista Redevelopment Project is the YYBNM. With a total area of almost 1,55,000 square meters, the museum will utilize the North and South Blocks of Delhi, which will be transformed to house this cultural wonder. Officials believe the location will increase the museum's visibility and accessibility.

Highlighting Ten Thousand Years of History

Each of the museum's eight sections will feature a glimpse into India’s 10,000-year journey through time. The exhibits will include artifacts, digital displays, and immersive experiences ranging from ancient civilisations and empires to contemporary accomplishments. This blend of traditional and modern approaches will become interesting to a wide range of audiences. 

The Role of France Museums Développement

The YYBNM will be designed and directed in large part by France Museums Développement, known for its expertise in developing top-notch museums. The collaboration showcases India's commitment to learning from global best practices while highlighting its distinct cultural identity. 

A Hub for Education and Tourism

The YYBNM is expected to become a centre for educational initiatives and a popular attraction for both domestic and international tourists. Its creative approach to history and storytelling aims to inspire visitors, encouraging a deeper bond with India's cultural heritage.

Expected Completion Timeline

The partnership represents a major advancement, while the Ministry of Culture has not provided a specific deadline. According to experts, the project supports India's goal of enhancing its global cultural footprint while promoting travel and education.
