New Delhi (India) November 15: There were a few surprises following the release of the released and retained lists for IPL 2026 by all ten teams prior to the auctions. The Chennai Super Kings released Matheesha Pathirana, Devon Conway, and Rachin Ravindra, Kolkata released players like Andre Russell, Quinton de Kock, and Venkatesh Iyer, and the Lucknow Super Giants added Ravi Bishnoi to the auction pool. Two of the biggest moves in IPL history occurred during the trading window: Sanju Samson joined the Chennai Super Kings and Ravindra Jadeja joined the Rajasthan Royals.

High-Profile Trades

Prior to the TATA IPL 2026 Auction, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have revealed their list of retained players. Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakaravarthy, Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi are among the core group of players that the three-time champions have kept. These players have been the team's mainstay in recent seasons because of their caliber and reliability.

Another significant transfer on deadline day is veteran bowler Mohammed Shami, who is transferring from SRH to the Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 10 crore. Reuniting with former India bowling coach Bharat Arun might be the change he needs to get back on track.

Significant Changes

Five players from the Punjab Kings' group from the previous season will be released, the team announced. The Kings have cut Glenn Maxwell, Kuldeep Sen, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, and Pravin Dube while maintaining the core of the team.

Kuldeep and Aaron did not play in any games during the previous season, while Pravin appeared in just one, while Maxwell played his third season with the Kings.

The Delhi Capitals declared that they would keep 17 players from their IPL 2025 squad. Prior to the forthcoming season, the Delhi Capitals have made the decision to release Mohit Sharma, Faf du Plessis, Sediqullah Atal, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Manvanth Kumar, and Darshan Nalkande.
