Kashmir CM and UIBC-UC Convene to Strengthen Indo-UAE Collaboration in Education and Healthcare

Srinagar  : Mr. Faizal E. Kottikollon – Dubai-based entrepreneur and philanthropist who also happens to be the Chairman of the UAE India Business Council – UAE Chapter , & Mr. Kshitij Korde – HCA  UIBC-UC  called upon the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Omar Abdullah, in a landmark meeting of leadership & vision here on the sidelines of two key events: the inauguration of the metamorphosed Middle School Block at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh, and the marking of a UIBC-UC research paper, Bridging Horizons: UAE-India Partnership and the Future of Education-led Development. Both these occasions signify the accelerating pace of Indo-UAE cooperation in social development in the primary realms of education and healthcare. The Chief Minister hailed the DREAM School project of the Faizal & Shabana Foundation, “a gleaming case-in-point of what visionary philanthropy enabled by cooperation between government & the private sector can achieve.” The Kothibagh DREAM School project, inspired by Mr. Kottikollon after his visit to Srinagar in 2023 as part of a delegation led by the UIBC-UC, demonstrates wildly his unrelenting engagement over the years and his continued shaping and consolidation of the India-UAE socio-development cooperation. As the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah  declared recently, “There is no amount of infrastructure development in roads, power projects, business complexes which can substitute for quality healthcare and education. These are the twin pillars of J&K’s future and advance.”

Mr. Kottikollon gave the Honorable Chief Minister a copy of the research paper previously published and a beautiful copy of “Opening Gateways – Tourism Opportunities India-UAE”, a coffee table book that views the increasingly close ties between India and UAE through the lens of beautiful imagery. The book underscores the statement made in the paper about Jammu and Kashmir being an economic powerhouse, despite the lack of its full human capital potential mentioned in the discussion on paper. Mr. Kottikollon’s foundation has used the PRISM model to transform over 900 schools in India. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to convey his appreciation to the Honorable Chief Minister and reiterated his long-term commitment to the development of Jammu and Kashmir. “I am incredibly grateful to the Ho’ble Chief Minister for his time and invaluable insight on enhancing the Indo-UAE corridor, which is not just a matter of importance but a bridge of learning and engagement that will have far-reaching impacts on the communities,” Mr. Kottikollon said. The discussion also proposed a partnership in the near future. The discussion also explored new opportunity areas for partnership with the 40 K-12 school transformation program proposed in Jammu and Kashmir as well as a possible PPP formation with the government for upgrading the existing healthcare waitlisted government hospitals given that the region is the center of the patient.

The  Honorable Chief Minister was also invited to lead a delegation to the UAE to further the dialogue on investment and was given a special invitation to visit Tulah Wellness Sanctuary in Kerala. The school also featured a main event with Lt. Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, the UIBC-UC delegation, which has seen a major breakthrough in Indo-UAE cooperation in Jammu and Kashmir as a public-private partnership can completely change the educational and social makeup of the region.
