Mukesh Ambani flies to Doha to meet Trump and Emir of Qatar
The wealthiest Asian Mukesh Ambani is taking a flight to Doha to meet with US President Donald Trump for the second time since he took office again in January of this year.

New Delhi (India) May 15: The chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, is scheduled to meet with the Emir of Qatar and U.S. President Donald Trump in Doha on Wednesday.
The meeting takes place as Reliance looks to strengthen its ties with key figures in Qatar and the US. The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the country's sovereign wealth fund, has invested in Reliance companies on several occasions over the years. As the richest person in Asia right now, Ambani also has important partnerships with big American internet companies like Google and Meta.
Ambani is expected to attend a state dinner at Lusail Palace in Doha that is being held in Trump's honour. But according to reports, he is not expected to have any official business or investment discussions during the occasion.
In order to resume importing crude oil from Venezuela, Reliance obtained waivers from the United States last year. However, after Mr. Trump approved a 25% duty on nations purchasing the South American nation's oil, it had to stop that in March.
Also, Reliance supplies the US market with fuels like petrol that are manufactured from crude oil imported from nations like Russia.
Google and Meta, two of the biggest tech companies in the US, have invested in Mr. Ambani's digital business.
In January, Mr. Trump's second inauguration was attended by Mr. Ambani and his wife, Nita. A day before the inauguration, they were among the 100 people who were invited to a private candlelit dinner with Mr. Trump.
He was also there in February 2020, when Mr. Trump made his final trip to India as president of the United States.
