NCC shares rise by 6% as PSU gets 2 orders by BSNL of more than ₹10,800 crore

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] March 26: NCC share price: Shares of NCC, one of the leading construction and infrastructure development entities, surged as much as 6.1% to ₹217.40 apiece on the NSE on Wednesday, March 26, as the PSU won two large orders from BSNL on Tuesday.

NCC was founded in 1978, with a diversified portfolio encompassing buildings, transportation, water & environment, electrical, irrigation, mining, and railways projects.

NCC said that on 25 March, 2025 it received two advance orders from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the design, installation, upgradation, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the middle mile network of BharatNet in the Uttarakhand Telecom Circle and Madhya Pradesh, DNH & DD Telecom Circles.

The size of the order is ₹2,647.12 crore (excluding GST)for the Uttarakhand project, whereas for the project in Madhya Pradesh, the size of the order is ₹8,157.44 crore (excluding GST). The period by which the orders are due to be executed is 3 years. The company added that as per its ‘Policy on Determination of Materiality of Events and Information, ’ orders/contracts valued at ₹1,000 crore and more (excl. GST) are termed major orders.

NCC Q3FY25 Results

NCC reported a 12.5% drop in third-quarter profit, impacted by slow execution of orders. From ₹221 crore recorded a year ago, the company's consolidated net profit dropped to ₹193 crore ($22.04 million) in the quarter ending December 31. Compared to a 36.6% increase in the same quarter last year, operational revenue climbed 1.61% to ₹5,345 crore.

Revenue from operations rose 1.61% to ₹5,345 crore, compared to a 36.6% growth in the same quarter year ago. According to a Reuters report, analysts said that revenue growth remained modest as road engineering, procurement, and construction players faced weak order books and sluggish execution. Margin pressure and project delays added to the challenges.

NCC stock performance

Shares of NCC Ltd have slipped around 16% in the past 12 months and 33% in the past six months. However, in the past five years, the stock has jumped around 1,086%.
