Embassy Confirms Loss, Aids 15 Indians

The internal sources at Safesea expressed their deep sorrow over the loss of the Indian sailor and urged the Indian government to take a firm stand against such attacks. They emphasized the need for concrete measures to safeguard Indian seafarers working in high-risk areas.
On Thursday, the Indian embassy in Iraq confirmed the death of the Indian national and reported that 15 other Indian crew members had been rescued from the Safesea Vishnu.
In a statement shared on X, the embassy assured that it is in "regular contact" with Iraqi authorities and the rescued sailors, offering "all possible assistance."

MEA Helps Wounded Indians Amid Regional Violence

Additionally, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaswal mentioned that two other Indian nationals, one in Israel and another in Dubai, had been injured in separate attacks but are currently on the mend. The Ministry of External Affairs is actively collaborating with local governments to support Indian citizens stranded in the region due to ongoing airspace closures .
"There is very strong inter-ministerial coordination. Whenever any assistance is required, Indian missions are immediately reaching out to assist people," MEA said.

Hormuz Strait Under Fire: Multiple Ships Struck

The situation remains tense, as at least three commercial vessels have been struck by “unknown projectiles” in the Strait of Hormuz , a vital oil shipping route. One ship was targeted off the coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), another had to evacuate north near Oman due to onboard fire, and a third vessel sustained damage north-west of Dubai, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
