New Delhi (India) March 8:Four days after the tragic death of 26-year-old Tarun Kumar,who was reportedly beaten to death over a dispute involving a water balloon during Holi celebrations, civic authorities and the Delhi Police took decisive action by demolishing parts of the accused's home. 

Crane Tears Down Suspect's 3-Storey Home

Early on Sunday morning, a crane was seen at JJ Colony in Uttam Nagar, tearing down sections of the three-storey house belonging to one of the suspects. Following this, workers used hammers to further dismantle the structure.
In anticipation of potential unrest, a heavy police presence was deployed to maintain peace and order during the operation. Authorities emphasized their commitment to preventing any escalation of tensions in the community. The investigation is ongoing, with police actively working to identify everyone involved in the violent incident.

CM Rekha Gupta Vows Swift Justice for Family

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed her deep sorrow over the murder, calling it "heartbreaking, reprehensible, and shocking." She underscored the city’s resolve to tackle serious crimes head-on. In a post on social media, she vowed to support Tarun's family as they grieve, stressing the need for swift justice and underscoring the necessity for firm action against such brutality, especially during a festive occasion like Holi.
The government is also urging residents to refrain from spreading rumors and to remain calm during the investigation. 

Family Demands 'Yogi Bulldozer' Action Now

This action comes in response to a family member's call for a strong stance against the accused, reminiscent of the ‘Yogi Adityanath model’ of demolition.
A relative of Tarun said, "We want the Yogi bulldozer model to be used. Their unauthorised houses should be demolished and all illegal extensions removed.”

7 Arrested, Including Minor, in Murder Case

Dwarka DCP Kushal Pal Singh reported a quick response from law enforcement, with five arrests made at the scene, including a 17-year-old minor. Two additional suspects were apprehended based on family reports. To mitigate the risk of retaliation, the area was secured with a detailed police presence, including DCPs, ACPs, and ASIs, supported by personnel from the Outer/West District, CRPF, and RAF forces.
Investigations continue, including questioning the woman who was involved in the initial altercation. In total, seven individuals, including a minor, have been arrested in connection with the case, which involves suspects Umardeen, Jummadeen, Kamruddin, Mustaque, Muzaffar, and Tahir. 

Holi Turns Deadly in Uttam Nagar

The incident began on March 4, when a 9-year-old girl accidentally dropped a balloon from her rooftop, hitting a woman and igniting a family dispute that escalated into violence, ultimately leading to Tarun’s tragic death. Police have charged the suspects with murder and violations of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Tarun's brother, Arun Kumar, has called for justice, highlighting the urgent need to hold those responsible accountable.
