26 July 2023, Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray lauded Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, describing him as an honest and capable administrator. Thackeray, who led the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government from November 2019 to June 2022, recently met Pawar at his office after the latter’s inclusion in the Eknath Shinde-led government as a deputy chief minister on July 2, following a split in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

During the MVA government, Ajit Pawar served as the deputy chief minister and efficiently handled crucial departments, including finance. Thackeray commended Pawar’s dedication to his work and his competent management of the administration during his time in the previous government.In the current Shinde-led government, Ajit Pawar continues to be responsible for the finance and planning department, showcasing the confidence placed in his capabilities.
