Rashami Desai Recalls Being Homeless, Having Debt Of Rs 3.5 Cr: 'I Thought It Was Better To Die...'

Rashami Desai recently opened up about her struggle in the midst of a peak moment in her career. Best known for her performance in the TV show 'Uttaran', Desai shared that her path in the industry has not been as smooth as many think it to be. The actress overcame many personal and professional challenges to reach where she is. In a recent interview with Brut India, Rashami opened up about a particularly challenging period of herself financially.  Rashami Desai about a financially distressing time in her career Recalling how her life has never been easy, Rashami shared, "I had bought a house and I had a loan of 2.5 crore on me, and apart from that I remember having a total debt of around 3.25 to 3.5 crore. I felt that everything was fine, normal… my show came to an abrupt halt. I was on the streets for four days… I had an Audi A6 in which I used to sleep. I had stored my belongings at my manager’s house, and I completely distanced myself from my family." Desai also spoke about a time when she had to eat meals worth just Rs 20 from rickshaw drivers, sometimes to find pebbles in the food. "Those four days were very difficult in my life. I realised that I haven’t even thought about myself. I got so caught up in everything that I forgot about myself."  Rashami on her divorce Rashami also opened up about her divorce and said, "I got divorced, then with my friends, they thought that I was very difficult as I didn’t express much, then my family thought that all my decisions were wrong." Rashami also spoke about not getting enough sleep and how stressful it was. "I did shows, didn’t sleep, and showed nothing on the outside, but inside I was full of stress. I used to think, what kind of life is this? It would be better to die," she said.
