Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 16: It was a usual morning in Jayanagar when a woman booked a Rapido ride to reach her workplace. But what happened next was anything but usual. The Rapido driver, Suhas, said she asked him to stop immediately, and when he didn’t stop at the exact spot, she began using angry words. Moments later, the disagreement turned physical, and a video from the road went viral across India.

CCTV Shows Woman Hitting First—Three Times

While the first video showed the driver hitting the passenger, a second CCTV clip changed the story. It revealed the woman hitting the rider three times before he raised his hand. This new footage sparked fresh discussions online. People started asking—was it really a one-sided assault or just a reaction? The incident happened on June 13, and the police now have both sides of the story in their hands.

Police Step In, FIR Filed After Initial Refusal

Initially, when both the rider and the woman were taken to the Jayanagar police station, no one filed a complaint. The police registered only a Non-Cognizable Report. But later, the woman returned and filed an FIR. The police are now investigating both complaints. Suhas said he too has filed a complaint, saying the woman hit him first without reason. He insists he was only doing his job.

No Comment from Rapido, But Public Reacts Strongly

Rapido, the app-based bike taxi company, chose not to comment on the incident. They called it a police matter. But people on the internet were quick to take sides. Some supported the woman, while others blamed her for being violent first. Many said both were wrong to let a small argument turn into a fight on the road, especially when public safety is involved.

Road Rage Cases in Bengaluru

This is not the first time Bengaluru has seen public fights during rides. In the past too, drivers and passengers have ended up in arguments over minor issues. Sometimes it’s rash driving, sometimes it’s about payment or routes. But this case stands out because of the camera proof. It shows how quick temper can turn a short ride into a long legal fight—reminding everyone to stay calm.
