2 Arrested in Amritsar for Leaking Army Info to Pakistan
The police traced the whole spy chain back to Harpreet Singh, also called Pittu, who was caught earlier in a drug case.

Amritsar (Punjab) [India], May 4: In the sacred city of Amritsar, where prayers meet patriotism, two men—Palak Sher Masih and Suraj Masih—were arrested for secretly sharing images and details of Indian Army areas with Pakistan. The local police acted swiftly after receiving an alert. The accused were allegedly connected to Harpreet Singh, who is already in jail. His role became a key clue. This action was part of a bigger mission to protect India’s borders during rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
Spy Network Rooted in Jail Contacts
The police traced the whole spy chain back to Harpreet Singh, also called Pittu, who was caught earlier in a drug case. He became a bridge between the Pakistani intelligence and the two arrested men. Police say Harpreet had introduced them to enemy handlers. They were reportedly paid small amounts like ₹5,000 or ₹10,000 for every bit of sensitive info. This amount may seem small, but the danger it brought was huge. History tells us that even tiny leaks have led to big damages during wartime in Punjab’s past.
How Drones and Drugs Opened the Trap
This case is not just about leaked info—it’s also connected to drones and drugs. Punjab Police and BSF had earlier caught heroin shipments dropped by drones near the same region. The same network that smuggled drugs seems to have started smuggling military information. Two Pakistani drones were recently recovered near Amritsar and Gurdaspur. These devices were found crashed in fields, likely brought down by strong anti-drone systems. Such drones have earlier dropped both drugs and arms, proving how deep this threat runs.
Money Over Nation: A Dangerous Exchange
Investigators found that the accused shared troop movements and base photos in exchange for small payments. Such actions show how some people choose money over country, ignoring how their act could harm lakhs of soldiers and families. Punjab has always been a brave land, home to many freedom fighters. From the days of the British rule to now, the soil has never supported betrayal. But now, some within have started helping the enemy for cash. This brings shame and shock to all who respect the Army.
Police, Government, and Army in Full Action
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav directed the police to take fast and strong action. The arrests happened quickly after the tip-off. A case has been filed under the Official Secrets Act and the Information Technology Act. Punjab Police has promised that such threats will never be allowed to grow again. They are bringing Harpreet from jail on production warrant to dig deeper. Amritsar, once home to freedom fighters and sacrifices, now also stands as a place where traitors were caught just in time.
