New Delhi (India) June 11: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with representatives of all-party delegations who had just returned from diplomatic missions abroad to discuss India's firm stand against terrorism with ties to Pakistan after Operation Sindoor at his official residence.

Modi has claimed that the delegations' success should result in improved operationalisation of the interparliamentary friendship forums that now exist between India and other nations in order to do more for the nation.

Members of the all party delegation told the PM about their experiences. The central government had already commended the seven delegations' work, which included more than fifty people. 

Modi posted, “Met members of various delegations who represented India in different countries and elaborated on India’s commitment to peace and the need to eradicate the menace of terrorism. We are all proud of the manner in which they put forward India’s voice” on social media platform X.

The delegations had previously met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. He praised their involvement in expressing India's consistent position against terrorism that comes from Pakistan.

To address the world about India's strong stand on Pakistan's decades-long promotion of terrorism and the capital's new normal in fighting cross-border terror after Operation Sindoor, seven delegations, consisting of 59 lawmakers and former diplomats, had travelled to 33 countries. 

The delegations had travelled to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Algeria, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Liberia, Congo, Sierra Leone, United States of America, Panama, Guyana, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, Russia, Egypt, Qatar, Ethiopia, South Africa, and the European Union to present India's stand.

The delegations emphasised on Pakistan's role in funding cross-border terrorist attacks and using them as a weapon of war against India. They also highlighted India's strong anti-terrorist position.

The delegations were led by representatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijyant Panda, the Congress Shashi Tharoor, the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) Sanjay Jha, the Shiv Sena Shrikant Shinde, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) K. Kanimozhi, and the Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) Supriya Sule.

Despite being a member of one of the delegations, Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and a member of the Lok Sabha, did not attend the reception at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. According to sources, he was in Dubai for a personal problem.

The delegations were established after Operation Sindoor. Tensions between the two countries increased after the Pahalgam terrorist attack and in response the Indian military launched Operation Sindoor which is an operation against militant sites in Pakistan.
