Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] March 08: While looking at stars on the banks of Sanapur Lake on Thursday night, two women—a 29-year-old homestay operator and a 27-year-old Israeli tourist—were brutally gang-raped near Hampi. Three male tourists, two from India and one from the United States, were with the victims when they were attacked at around 11 p.m., according to police details.

Sitting on a motorcycle, the accused first asked the group for petrol before requesting ₹100. The attackers were violent when the victims refused, shoving the men into the canal, assaulting the group, and then sexually harassing the ladies.

Two of the male tourists, Pankaj from Maharashtra and Daniel from the United States, were able to get away, but the third, Bibash from Odisha, is still unknown for. To find him, police are currently using their dog squad and fire personnel are on a search.

A complaint has been filed under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges of gang rape, robbery, and attempted murder, according to Koppal Superintendent of Police Ram L. Arasiddi.

Six specific teams have been organized to find the accused. Following the women's claims, quick action was taken, and the inquiry is currently going on," he said. At this time, those injured are hospitalized at a government hospital.
