It The boy jumped from the platform of Rajendra Place Metro Station. It happened around 2.34 pm on Tuesday if early reports are to be believed. The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately the doctors said he was brought dead. The news spread fast in the area. Many people felt shocked after hearing the news. Rajendra Place Metro Station has been a busy stop since the early years of Delhi Metro and this sad event reminded many of the need for safe spaces for students.
History of the Case and Family’s Claims
The family said the boy had been facing mental pressure in school for one year. They said he was scolded often and felt troubled by some teachers. The parents said he had shared his feelings with school counsellors too. They also said he had told teachers that he felt very low. A police officer said a note was found. In the note the boy named a few teachers and shared that he felt stressed. This case has brought back memories of past student stress cases in Delhi schools and raised new concerns.
School Places Teachers Under Suspension
Four teachers of the school were suspended after an official letter was issued. The letter said there was an FIR filed regarding the case and the matter was under investigation. He also said his son fainted in school on Tuesday. He said the teacher did not believe him. He said the boy cried and still the teacher thought he was acting. The family said this made the boy feel helpless. They said the school did not listen even when they shared their concerns.
